This fun lesson plan begins with a world map and slowly narrows down the child’s location by continent, country, state, city and finally home. Children are able to color the maps and glue them to circular construction paper that gradually gets smaller. This gives kids a visual learning experience that helps them to understand their location by looking at a colorful flip book of maps. A few useful books are also listed to use along with the lesson plan.
